Modern Function: Companion
Appearance: Slim, elegant, dignified with bone structure showing through muscle and thin skin.
Weight/Height: 60-74cm; 15-25kg
Coat Colours/Texture: Fawn, Red, Brindle, Sandy, White, Black, Blue, Brown, Gray, Cream, parti colour. Short, fine hair.
Grooming:Run a hound-glove over the skin on a weekly basis.
Character/Temperament: Typical of an ancient breed - proud, dignified, independent, aloof with strangers. Loyal & loving to it's own.
Compatibility with other animals/cats: Needs to be socialized, strong hunting instinct.
Compatibility with people/children: Loyal and affectionate with it's own.
Indoors/Outdoors: Family dog - indoors primarily, but enjoys outdoors for exercise.
Exercise/Training: Needs motivation to obey. Training takes patience and a positive energy.
Longevity/Health: Up to 15 years. Occur sometimes: Hypothyroidism, seizures, auto-immune problems, cardiac, spondylosis, bloat, sensitivity to some anaesthetics.
