Birman cat Fact File
Origins: Burma, later France.
Appearance: Medium to large in size; sturdy, stocky, long body; broad, rounded head with prominent nose and round eyes; long, silky coat that may be slightly curly on stomach.
Weight/Height: 4-5kg; 20-25cm
Coat Colours: Cream colored coat with "points" of darker color on the face, ears, feet, and tail. White "socks" on all four feet. Point colors are seal, chocolate, blue, and lilac. The nose and paw pads are pink..
Grooming: Brush regularly to remove loose hair.
Character/Temperament: Intelligent and bond strongly. Curious, people oriented. Serene and affectionate, patient & tolerant.
Longevity/Health: 9-13 years. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, kidney disease, Feline Audiogenic Reflex Seizures (FARS)
