Chinchilla Persian cat Fact File
Origins: United Kingdom. Derived from Persian cats, selectively bred for it's colouring and the very soft coat which led to the name Chinchilla after it's namesake, the Chinchilla rodent which has a similar type and look to it's coat..
Appearance: Medium size, short, strong legs. Long white hair with grey or gold tipping. Large green eyes.
Weight/Height: 3.5-7.5kg; 18-30cm
Coat Colours: white with darker coloured tipping to the hairs - tipping in black, silver or golden.
Grooming: Brush regularly to remove loose hair.
Character/Temperament: Gentle, loving, intelligent, calm, not very energetic, friendly.
Longevity/Health: 8-12 years. Brachycephalic, jaw deformities, dental disease, excessive tear production, facial skin irritation, eye disease, polycystic kidney disease (PKD).
