Characteristics: Friesian horses are tall, big-boned horses that typically have a black coat with thick mane and tail. Used for centuries as warhorses, they have a calm demeanor. They are willing learners, social, and are eager to please
Weight/Height: 15.2 to 17 hands (152 - 1.72 cm) / 550-750kg
Colors: Black (with no white excepting sometimes a small white star on forehead). Rarely chestnut known as Fire Friesians with limited breeding allowed.

Health: 13-17 years. Dwarfism, hydrocephalus, aortic rupture, enlarged esophagus, PSSM, retained placenta
